The 4th Annual BALINALE International Film
Festival held on Bali 12-17 October featured 30 films from 12
countries. The festival’s Opening Nights in Jakarta and Bali were
standing room only for the premiere of Sony Pictures EAT PRAY LOVE
starring Julia Roberts and Javier Bardem. A third of the film was
shot on Bali.
Other acclaimed films featured in the program
included; POETRY, THE SOCIAL NETWORK, ANIMAL KINGDOM, BRAN NUE DAE,
EXIT THROUGH THE GIFT SHOP, BABIES, SANG PEMIMPI and OCEAN HEAVEN.
Some of the award winning Filmmakers who participated in the
Festival’s Workshops and Panel Discussions were; DAVID MICHOD, DONNA
SMITH, JAN CHAPMAN, RACHEL PERKINS, ROBBY ERTANTO, LEE CHANG-DONG
and ANTHONY ANDERSON.
